Trent Alexander-Arnold is a multi-time Premier League winner, Galactico, and revolutionary full-back.

Possessing elite vision and a wicked right foot, Alexander-Arnold has followed in the footsteps of Dani Alves to transform the full-back role.

The primary playmaker in Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool during a period when Premier League betting often made them among the title favourites, Alexander-Arnold has topped assist charts, delivered match-winning moments, and been a modern-day set piece specialist.

Blossoming into a star with his hometown club, the relationship soured when he ran down his contract to move to Real Madrid and join up with England teammate Jude Bellingham.

With time, Alexander-Arnold will be fondly remembered on the red half of Merseyside, even if he’s likely to get a frosty welcome when he first returns to Anfield.

How Much Is Trent Alexander-Arnold Worth?

A big name in the football betting markets for coming up to a decade, Alexander-Arnold has inevitably amassed a sizeable net worth. Various sources tab Alexander-Arnold’s net worth around the £30 million mark.

In 2023, Alexander-Arnold reportedly signed a multi-year deal with Adidas worth over £25 million. He has been one of the faces of Adidas’ marketing in recent years.

He has also worked with Calvin Klein and Nivea and was part of a consortium that invested in the Alpine Formula One team.

Contract

Alexander-Arnold’s five-year contract with Real Madrid is reportedly worth around £7.5 million per year after tax. He is unquestionably one of the highest-paid defensive players in the world, but there are several players on Real’s books who could be earning a higher weekly wage.

When his departure from Liverpool was announced, Alexander-Arnold said, “After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season.

“This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my life. I know many of you have wondered why or been frustrated that I haven’t spoken about this yet, but it was always my intention to keep my full focus on the team’s best interests, which was securing No 20.

“This club has been my whole life – my whole world – for 20 years. From the academy right through until now, the support and love I have felt from everyone inside and outside of the club will stay with me forever.

“I will forever be in debt to you all. But, I have never known anything else and this decision is about experiencing a new challenge, taking myself out of my comfort zone and pushing myself both professionally and personally.”

He added his love for Liverpool will ‘never die’.

In August 2021, Alexander-Arnold had signed a four-year contract extension with Liverpool at around £135,000 per week, according to Spotrac. The deal expired at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid worked out a pre-contract agreement to sign Alexander-Arnold as a free agent at the end of the 2024/25 season. Los Blancos then agreed to pay Liverpool £10 million to have Alexander-Arnold released from his contract early so he could play in the Club World Cup.

Impressing the Real fans by delivering a speech in Spanish at his unveiling, Alexander-Arnold said, "Signing for a club like Real Madrid doesn't happen every day. It's a dream come true. I'm happy and proud to be here. I'm excited to show my game to the Madrid fans.

"I'm aware of what it means to play for Real Madrid, it's a big responsibility, but I'm ready. I want to win a lot of trophies and be a champion, and keep growing. Thank you, and Hala Madrid."

Florentino Perez added, "We know what it means for you to play for Real Madrid. You could have gone to any club in the world, but you chose us and that's something our fans will never forget... If you've chosen to play here, it's because your talent makes you believe you'll achieve new successes here."

England

Alexander-Arnold received his first England call-up in May 2018 and debuted the following month. But despite his undeniable talent, he’s rarely been first choice for his country.

Gareth Southgate preferred the defensive solidity of Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, or Reece James. Alexander-Arnold was experimented with as a central midfielder as a result, much to the dismay of Jurgen Klopp.

Thomas Tuchel has similar concerns about Alexander-Arnold’s viability in knockout football.

Tuchel said, "I can see that sometimes he relies heavily on his offensive contributions, and gives not so much emphasis on the defensive discipline and effort…

"Because when we are talking, especially, about qualifying football and then tournament football, the one defensive error, the one moment where you are not 100 per cent awake, can be decisive, can be the moment where you pack your suitcases and go home.

"We will put this all into consideration, but now is the moment to get to know him. I know him. I played against him. I had phone calls with him."
